Facilitator Liquid Bandage contains hydroxyethylated amylopectin. Facilitator is sold only to licensed veterinarians. Mode of Action Facilitator is a polymeric gel which, upon drying over the wound, forms an adhesive barrier. Indications The gel is indicated for management of a variety of wounds in dogs, cats, horses, birds, and exotics. Wound management uses: degloving injuries, burns, bite wounds, lick granulomas, hot spots, food pad injuries, dehisced surgical wounds, cuts and wounds that can' t be sutured, where skin grafts may be considered, lacerations and abrasions, hard to bandage areas, open wounds, cat declaws and tail docking. For veterinary use only. For proper wound management, please consult your veterinarian. Instructions of Use Apply Facilitator as thinly as possible as needed or a minimum of every 3 days. Proper preparation of the wound site is critical for the successful use of Facilitator. The wound should be gently cleansed with water or an antiseptic, e.g. providone, then rinsed thoroughly. Remove any accumulating blood or moisture from the wound using sterile gauze. Do not use other topical ointments or salves as they may interfere with the formation of the Facilitator Liquid Bandage. Avoid contaminating the tube by holding the tip of the tube slightly above the wound. Gently apply Facilitator until the wound is completely covered by a very thin film, allowing it to extend slightly beyond the wound edges. Allow the thin film of Facilitator to dry completely to assure secure coverage of the wound. Removal of Facilitator Facilitator can be removed from the skin or other surfaces with water. Precautions for Use Facilitator is not recommended in the management of infected or deep puncture wounds. Avoid contact with the eyes.
